Appliance Repair Radio Show Provides Free,
DIY Expertise to Solve Lingering Problems

CANTON, Mich. - January 21, 2008/ PRNewswire / - If you wake up on a Sunday morning with a burst of ambition to solve that nagging home appliance problem on your New Year’s Resolution List, tune in to “The Appliance Repair Show” for practical advice from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. ET on News/Talk 760 WJR radio.  The show is presented by RepairClinic.com®, Canton, Mich., as part of their extensive home appliance repair service portfolio for the do-it-yourself market.

The company’s top appliance repair expert and enthusiast, John Sowden, vice president of purchasing and technical services, hosts the show and shares his more than 20 years of experience and up-to-date knowledge to guide people who want to fix their own appliances.  “I have been training people and solving appliance problems most of my career” says Sowden. “At RepairClinic.com, we help more than 40,000 people a month repair their own appliances for free—whether they order a part from us or not.  We help people save money and minimize their impact on the environment by extending the life of their appliances.”

With WJR’s John McCulloch as its moderator, the program broadcasts live from the Fisher Building in Detroit and attracts listeners not only in Michigan and nearby states but also across the U.S. via the radio station’s “Listen Live” area on their website www.wjr.com.  Sowden uses the www.RepairClinic.com site as a resource to help troubleshoot callers’ problems.  The site’s PartDetective® includes photos of nearly every appliance part for easier identification.

“Despite the serious business of diagnosing and fixing uncooperative appliances, humor is also a part of the show,” continues Sowden.  “For example, when one listener tried to mimic the unusual sounds coming from his washing machine, I think everyone in earshot was howling with laughter.  Some callers get very creative when conveying their appliance problem.  We are glad to help both the mechanically and non-mechanically inclined.”
