People & Culture

Not all of RepairClinic’s 2,500,000 customers own a tool belt. From 65-year-old grandmas who enjoy the challenge of a successful lawn mower carburetor replacement to first-time homeowners who’ve never repaired anything before, today’s DIY repair heroes are diverse in every way—age, gender, experience, background and where they call home.

Every day, homeowners, first-time and beginner DIYers, advanced DIYers, appliance repair professionals, small engine repair shops and landscaping and lawn care business owners tell us that we’ve saved them time and money and helped empower them.

Of our 125 employees, the majority have been with the company for five or more years. Among them is a team of accomplished appliance repair professionals and outdoor power equipment/landscaping experts.

RepairClinic Outreach Outside of working hours, RepairClinic Outreach, a group of energetic RepairClinic employees, supports national and local community organizations through volunteerism and fundraising. Some of the charities we’ve worked with in the past include the Make-a-Wish Foundation®, the American Cancer Society®, Meals on Wheels as well as metro-Detroit organizations including Hope Clinic, an organization that provides free medical and dental care, a food pantry, meals and other services to families in need.

History

In the late 1990s, RepairClinic.com’s president and co-founder Chris Hall had reached 10 years of running his successful home appliance repair business. He recognized that if the correct resources existed, many of his customers could repair their own appliances. He shared his idea with CEO and co-founder Larry Beach.

In March 1999, Chris, Larry and a passionate team with a strong belief in the brand laid a solid foundation that helped us grow from an unknown startup company to a trusted brand.

In August 2004, in order to accommodate our rapid growth, we built a new headquarters and moved our operation to the 60,000 sq. ft. building in Canton, Michigan. In 2007 we added another 12,000 square feet of office space and in 2010 we added 14,000 square feet of warehouse space bringing the total to 86,000 square feet. These expansions provided enough space to absorb our expansion in 2011 into outdoor power equipment parts. In August 2012, at the request of hundreds of Canadian do-it-yourselfers, we began shipping to every address in Canada.
