Did you know?
High-Efficiency (HE) washers use half the amount of water and energy that traditional agitator washers use. They cost more money to buy, but they can save you loads of money down the road. |

Avoid the inconvenience of those late-night visits to the Laundromat; the high cost of an appliance repair technician; or the bother of watching your laundry pile up while waiting for a repair. Keep your washing machine running safely and efficiently with these simple and basic maintenance tips.
Rubber washing machine fill hoses can crack, blister, or break over time which can lead to extensive water damage to your home. Appliance manufacturers recommend replacing these fill hoses every five years, regardless of their condition. For added durability, you can replace them with stainless steel water supply hoses.
A vibrating or “walking” washing machine can be very bothersome. Keep your washing machine stationary by leveling its legs. The front legs should be adjusted to the proper height--as close to the washer as possible--and then tighten the lock nut up against the washer base to prevent the leg from rotating. The rear legs can be adjusted the same way or they may have self-adjusting legs which can be set by tilting the washer forward on its front legs and then setting it back down allowing the legs to automatically adjust.
The door boot seal on front load washing machines should be wiped down with a clean cloth after every use. Leaving the door open slightly will help prevent mold buildup. Self-cleaning washer tablets can also be used once a month, in both front load and top load washers, to keep the tub clear of lint, residue, and mold. Just place one tablet in your empty washer and set the cycle to “normal” using the hot water setting. |
