When the
family's Kitchenaid® refrigerator decided to quit making ice, Mike's
first thought was that the icemaker needed to be replaced. "He ordered
a new icemaker and installed it, but it didn't solve the problem,"
said Reta, Mike's wife. "I remember him telling me that he should
have done some research before deciding it was the icemaker. In fact,
he said he wished that he'd contacted the RepairGuru for help before replacing
the icemaker."
"The
RepairGuru let me know right away that it sounded like the source of the
problem was a bad wire connection between the circuit boards and the icemaker,"
continued Mike, "As instructed, I did some electrical testing with
a volt/ohm meter using the wiring diagram located within the appliance
and found the problem. It was that easy - and our icemaker continues to
make ice today."
Most recently, the family dishwasher needed repair due to a crack in the
front plastic area. He emailed a description of his problem to RepairGuru.
Within minutes, he received an email back advising that he replace the
control panel assembly
"Nobody's
happy when their appliance isn't working like it should," said Reta.
"And I know that Mike and I are both thankful to have RepairClinic.com
on our team.
Two
Tips to Try This Month
Say goodbye
to a smelly garbage disposers
If
your kitchen doesn't smell its best, check your garbage disposer. Food
particles easily collect inside the disposer blades. The fact that you
frequently run water through your disposer isn't enough to prevent this
collection of food debris. Freshen up a disposer by grinding half a lemon
or lime. Better yet, make Disposer
Care, part of your regular maintenance routine. This product
safely and completely eliminates disposer odors.
Boost
refrigerator and freezer efficiency
Have you checked the temperature of your fridge or freezer lately? This
simple task can help significantly reduce electricity bills. Your refrigerator
should be kept between 36 and 38 degrees, while the freezer should be
kept between 0 and 5 degrees. Temperatures just 10 degrees lower than
the recommended levels could increase your energy usage by as much as
25 percent.
