Message from your RepairGuru®Welcome to the November 2007 edition of the RepairClinic.com newsletter. RepairClinic.com is constantly striving to improve our services for our customers. To that end we have recently added new search capabilities to our PartDetective. If you haven’t visited the site lately, please check it out. We believe you will find it even easier to find the parts you need. You might also notice in the brand selection area that we have added LG as an option. We recognized that LG appliances are in a growing number of households, so we have added LG parts to our warehouse of inventory. As you begin to make plans for the coming holidays, don't forget to think about your appliances. Do they need some maintenance? Is something broken? What about a tune-up? If you take care of your appliances now, chances are you won't be caught in a bind, come holiday time. Case in point: Ken R. of Delray Beach, Florida. He and his wife faced a real "holiday buster" just before Thanksgiving. Stockbroker Ken R. Scrambles to Rescue Holiday
We thought
that was odd, but assumed the oven knew what it was doing. However, the
oven stopped working completely and we were left with an error message
reading - F1." "I consider myself handy, but had never fixed an appliance before," said Ken. "So I automatically picked up the phone and called a repairman. He couldn't get out to the house for 10 days, and wanted to charge a $60 service call, plus parts and labor. I quickly realized that this wasn't going to save our Thanksgiving." Ken, who is employed by an independent financial services company and also coaches high school tennis, decided to take matters into his own hands and started searching online for help. He typed "Maytag oven parts" into his search engine and found RepairClinic.com. Using the online schematics, he was able to quickly determine that the problem was either the oven sensor or the internal relay clock. "I found the sensor and the clock immediately in RepairClinic.com's parts section," said Ken. "At this point, though, it was Tuesday night and nothing would ship until Wednesday. I knew I couldn't get the part delivered on Thanksgiving. But I could save some money. The sensor was $35.00, the less expensive of the parts, so I decided to order it and give home appliance repair a try." The part arrived from RepairClinic.com on Friday, and Ken simply removed two screws to take out the old sensor and put in the new one. The oven has worked ever since. "If I'd found out about the oven problem a day sooner, RepairClinic.com would have helped us keep our original Thanksgiving plans," said Ken. "But that's a lesson for next year. Fortunately, the day still turned out great. We just switched gears to a potluck." "RepairClinic.com
is the best site I've seen for appliance maintenance and repair,"
continued Ken. "Without RepairClinic.com, I wouldn't have known what
to do. I don't know what's going to break next, but now I'm ready. I want
to save money and save time-I highly recommend RepairClinic.com." Energy Saving Tips for your Range/Stove/ Oven
