Dryer heating element assembly. If the dryer does not heat the thermal fuse should be checked before replacing the heating element. Normally, the element will have a break in the coil if defective.
Dryer lint filter. Air flow is vital to proper dryer operation. The lint filter should be cleaned before every load and replaced if damaged.
Dryer thermistor. This thermistor should read approximately 11.9K Ohms of resistance at 70 degrees Fahrenheit (21’ Celsius). If the thermistor is defective, it may prolong or shorten the drying time or cause a fault code. A defective thermistor is not responsible for a dryer not heating.
Dryer moisture sensor bar. This moisture sensor monitors the clothing’s moisture level and sends a signal to the control board when the clothes are dry. If your moisture sensor is defective, the dryer may shut off too early or continue running for a while after the clothes are dry. Two required.
Dryer blower wheel.
To remove unscrew the blower wheel clockwise off the motor shaft.
High limit thermostat, L295-50F. If the dryer overheats, this high-limit thermostat will cut off the power to the heating element. If the high-limit thermostat has blown, the dryer will not heat.
