The most common reasons for replacing the ice level arm are when it is stuck in the up position, causing the ice maker to not make ice at all, and when it is disconnected or broken, causing the ice maker to still produce water even when the ice bucket is full.

All of the information in this ice level arm replacement video is applicable to the following brands: Whirlpool, Kenmore, KitchenAid, Maytag, Jenn Air, Roper, Estate, Admiral, Crosley, Magic Chef

Step By Step Instructions

1
As with any repair, you should unplug the power cord before beginning.
2
To replace the ice level arm on your icemaker first remove the ice bucket.
3
Lift up the ice access door and pull the old ice level arm out of the icemaker assembly if still intact.
4
Install the new ice level arm by first inserting the back end of the arm into the fill cup then insert the front end into the control module housing.
5
With the new arm installed, close the ice access door and replace the ice bucket.
6
You’re now ready to plug the power cord back in and confirm that the new ice level arm is working properly.
