All of the information in this fan blade replacement video is applicable to the following brands: Toro, Ryobi, Homelite, Green Machine

Tools used: multi-screwdriver, T25 Torx bit, spark plug wrench, rope, 13mm socket

Step By Step Instructions

Before you replace the fan blade on your leaf blower first make sure the engine has cooled.

Next, remove the wire and boot from the spark plug.

Remove the blower tube if still attached.

Now remove the screws securing the fan housing.

Pull the housing off.

Use a socket or spark plug wrench to unthread the spark plug.

Now confirm that the piston is in the “down” position.

Insert a cord into the cylinder to prevent the piston from moving.

Use a 13mm socket to remove the nut securing the mulching and fan blades.

Pull off the mulching blade and the old fan blade.

Before you install the new fan blade first make sure the washer is in place on the crankshaft.

Now slide the new fan blade onto the crankshaft followed by the mulching blade.

Thread and tighten the nut to secure.

Remove the cord from the cylinder.

Rethread the spark plug.

Be careful not to over tighten.

Replace the fan housing.

Secure it with the screws.

Reattach the blower tube if needed.

Reattach the wire and boot to the spark plug and your leaf blower should be ready for use.
