Tools used: T20 Torx head screwdriver, T25 Torx head screwdriver, needle-nose pliers, clamp
Step-By-Step Instructions1
Before you replace the throttle trigger on your hedge trimmer first make sure the engine has cooled.

Next, remove the wire and boot from the spark plug to prevent the engine from accidentally starting.

Now remove all of the screws holding the handle base and cover together.

Carefully remove the handle cover and use a clamp to secure the handle base to the gear box assembly.

Lift the old throttle trigger out of the handle base and detach it from the throttle cable.

Remove the trigger spring.

Install the new throttle trigger by first attaching the throttle cable to the new trigger.

Move the on-off switch out of the way then align the spring on the trigger and position the trigger in the handle base until it is fully seated.

Reposition the on-off switch.

Make sure the throttle cable is inserted into the groove in the handle base then carefully remove the clamp, support the base and realign the handle cover.

Be aware, you will need to thread the larger screws through the nuts to secure.

Reattach the wire and boot to the spark plug and your hedge trimmer should be ready for use.
