Step By Step Instructions

To replace the run capacitor in your furnace first shut off the power to the furnace.

Next, rotate the knobs securing the blower chamber panel and pull the panel off.

Place a screwdriver across the terminals to confirm that the old capacitor is fully discharged.

Now disconnect the wires.

Use a quarter-inch socket to loosen the mounting screw securing the retaining strap and slide the old capacitor out.

Install the new run capacitor by positioning it behind the retaining strap then tighten the mounting screw to secure.

Connect the wires to the terminals on the new capacitor.

Reposition the blower chamber panel and rotate the knobs to secure.

With the repair completed, turn the power back on and your furnace should be ready for use.
