Step By Step Instructions

To replace the igniter in your furnace with a compatible universal igniter first shut off the power to the furnace.

Next, rotate the knobs securing the combustion chamber panel and pull the panel off.

Now disconnect the igniter wire connecter.

Use a phillips-head screwdriver to unthread the mounting screw to release the old igniter.

You’re now ready to prepare the new universal igniter for installation.

Trim the new igniter wires and strip off a quarter inch of insulation.

Now cut the wires to separate the wire connecter from the old igniter and strip off a quarter inch of insulation.

Join the connecter wires to the new igniter wires and secure them with the wire nuts.

Align the tab on the new igniter with the slot on the mounting bracket as you carefully insert the igniter into the burner housing.

Replace the mounting screw to secure.

Connect the wire connecter.

Reposition the combustion chamber panel and rotate the knobs to secure.

With the repair completed, turn the power back on and your furnace should be ready for use.
