Step By Step Instructions

To replace the fan blade in your central air condensing unit first shut off the power to the unit.

You can do this by removing the fuses from the disconnect box or switching off the circuit breaker.

Now use a 5/16th inch socket to remove the mounting screws securing the fan guard.

Lift up the guard and fan motor assembly, detach the wire guide from the cover and flip the assembly over.

Use a wrench to loosen the set screw and pull the old fan blade off of the motor shaft.

Install the new fan blade by aligning it on the end of the motor shaft then tighten the set screw to secure.

Reposition the fan guard and fan motor assembly by first inserting the wire guide into the hole in the cover.

Then fully align the fan guard on the cover and secure it with the mounting screws.

With the repair completed, restore power to the condensing unit and your central air system should be ready for use.
