Step-By-Step Instructions1
Before you replace the cutting chain on your chainsaw first make sure the engine has cooled the on-off switch is in the “off” position. and the chain brake is disengaged.

Now push the bar tensioner knob in and rotate it counter-clockwise to remove the chain cover.

Push the bar back to loosen the old cutting chain, if still intact and remove the bar and chain.

Install the new cutting chain by aligning it on the chain bar.

Make sure the teeth on the chain are facing towards the front end of the chain bar on the top and away from the front end on the bottom.

Loop the chain onto the clutch sprocket as you align the chain bar on the mounting bolts.

Reposition the chain cover by inserting the chain tensioner pin into the bar – be aware you may need to adjust the position of the pin to fully align the cover.

Secure the cover loosely by rotating the bar tensioner knob clockwise.

Now lift the bar and rotate the chain adjustment dial clockwise until there is no slack in the chain.

Once the chain is taut, tighten the tension on the bar.

With the repair completed turn the on-off switch to the “on” position and your chainsaw should be ready for use.
