Step By Step Instructions

Before you replace the gas tank on your edger first make sure the engine has cooled.

Next, remove the wire and boot from the spark plug to prevent the engine from accidentally starting.

You should perform this procedure with no fuel in the tank.

Note the orientation of the fuel lines attached to the carburetor then detach them.

Now use a t-25 torx bit screwdriver to unthread the screws securing the gearbox assembly.

Slide the assembly off.

Pull the old gas tank free of the mounting posts and release the fuel lines from the retainers.

Prepare the new gas tank for installation by transferring the bumper from the old tank to the new one, if necessary.

Feed the fuel lines through the housing keeping the larger fuel line on top.

Secure the lines behind the retainers and position the new tank on the mounting posts.

Realign the gearbox assembly and rethread the screws to secure.

Attach the fuel lines to the appropriate ports on the carburetor.

With the repair completed reattach the spark plug wire and boot fill the new tank with fuel and your edger should be ready for use.
