Tools used: 5/16 inch socket, 3/8 inch socket, pipe wrench, ¾ inch socket
Step-By-Step Instructions1
Before you replace the starter cup on your snowblower first make sure the engine has cooled.

Next, remove the wire and boot from the spark plug to prevent the engine from accidentally starting.

Use a 5/16th inch socket to help remove the screws and washers securing the recoil starter.

Next, use a 3/8th inch socket to remove the bolts securing the belt cover.

Use a pipe wrench to secure the pulley shaft as you use a three-quarter inch socket to help unthread the starter cup mounting nut.

Pull off the old starter cup.

Install the new starter cup by aligning it on the flywheel then thread and tighten the mounting nut to secure.

Replace the belt cover.

Rethread the bolts and tighten.

Now realign the recoil starter on the blower housing with the handle facing up.

Replace the screws and washers to secure.

With the repair completed, reattach the spark plug wire and boot and your snowblower should be ready for use.
