Mantis

Tools needed: 10mm wrench, pliers, 7/16th inch socket and wrench

Step By Step Instructions

1
Before you replace the trigger handle assembly on your tiller make sure the engine has cooled and the on-off switch is in the “off” position.
2
We recommend performing this procedure with little or no fuel in the tank.
3
Now tip the tiller forward so it rests on the fuel tank and tine guard.
4
Depress the tabs to release the air filter cover.
5
Use a 10mm wrench to loosen a locking nut to release the throttle cable from the bracket.
6
Use pliers to detach the cable from the swivel.
7
Disconnect the stop-switch wire connecter.
8
Next, use a 7/16th inch socket and wrench to unthread the nut and bolt securing the handle assembly to the brace.
9
Detach the throttle cable retaining clip.
10
Unthread the adjustment knob and remove the bolt to fully release the old handle assembly.
11
You’re now ready to install the new trigger handle assembly.
12
Align the new handle arm, insert the bolt and thread on the adjustment knob.
13
Align the arm in the brace and secure it with the nut and bolt.
14
Use the existing retaining clip to secure the throttle cable to the lower handle assembly.
15
Now insert the cable into the swivel.
16
Position the locking nuts and washers and tighten the nuts to secure the cable.
17
Be aware you may need to adjust the tension on the new cable.
18
Connect the stop-switch wire connecter.
19
Replace the air filter cover and return the tiller to its upright position.
