Echo

Tools needed: ¾ inch socket, T-25 Torx bit screwdriver

Step By Step Instructions

1
Before you replace the throttle linkage in your leaf blower make sure the engine has cooled and the on-off switch is in the “off” position.
2
Remove the wire and boot from the spark plug.
3
Use a 3/4 inch socket or spark plug wrench to help loosen and remove the plug.
4
Now use a t-25 torx bit screwdriver to unthread the mounting screws securing the engine cover.
5
With the screws removed, carefully detach the cover.
6
If still intact, detach the old throttle linkage from the trigger and the throttle cable.
7
Install the new throttle linkage by connecting the hooked end to the throttle cable.
8
Confirm that the cable is aligned with the groove in the cable guide.
9
Then attach the opposite end of the linkage to the throttle trigger.
10
With the linkage in place, realign the engine cover.
11
Replace the mounting screws to secure the cover.
12
Rethread the spark plug.
13
Be careful not to strip the threads by over-tightening.
14
Reattach the wire and boot to the plug.
15
With the reassembly complete turn the on-off switch to the “on” position and your leaf blower should be ready for use.
