Tools needed: T-25 Torx bit screwdriver, ¾ inch socket

Step By Step Instructions

1
Before you replace the spark arrestor on your leaf blower make sure the engine and muffler have cooled and the on-off switch is in the “off” position.
2
Remove the wire and boot from the spark plug.
3
Use a 3/4 inch socket or spark plug wrench to help loosen and remove the plug.
4
Now use a t-25 torx bit screwdriver to unthread the mounting screws securing the engine cover.
5
With the screws removed, carefully detach the cover.
6
Remove the blower tube from the housing.
7
Use the t-25 torx bit screwdriver to unthread the screws securing the exhaust deflector and spark arrestor assembly.
8
Remove the cover, guide and deflector.
9
You can now remove the old spark arrestor if still intact.
10
Install the new spark arrestor by aligning it on the muffler with the beveled edge facing inward.
11
Align the guide on the exhaust deflector followed by the cover.
12
Position the assembly on the muffler then rethread and tighten the screws to secure.
13
Reinstall the blower tube.
14
Confirm that the throttle linkage is in place then realign the engine cover.
15
Replace the mounting screws to secure the cover.
16
Rethread the spark plug.
17
Be careful not to strip the threads by over-tightening.
18
Reattach the wire and boot to the plug.
19
With the reassembly complete turn the on-off switch to the “on” position and your leaf blower should be ready for use.
