Step-By-Step Instructions1
Before you replace a door cam on your refrigerator unplug the power cord.

Use a phillips-head screwdriver to remove the screw securing the hinge cover.

Lift off the cover and disconnect the wire harness and water supply line if applicable – be prepared for a small amount of water to spill.

Next, use a 5/16th inch socket or nut driver to unthread the upper hinge mounting screws.

Pull the upper hinge free.

Lift the refrigerator door off of the lower hinge.

You can now remove the old cam if still intact.

Install the new refrigerator door cam by positioning it on the lower hinge pin.

Apply some grease to the cam.

Reposition the door on the amylose the door and realign the upper hinge.

Replace the mounting screws to secure it.

Reconnect the water supply line and the wire harness if applicable.

Replace the hinge cover and secure it with the screw.

With the repair completed, plug the power cord back in and confirm that the door opens and closes properly.
