Step By Step Instructions

Before you replace the fuel tank on your snow blower make sure the engine has cooled. and the ignition key has been removed.

You should perform this procedure with no fuel in the tank.

Now carefully tip the snow blower forward so it rests on the auger housing.

Detach the choke lever extension.

Next, use a 3/8th inch socket to unthread the three mounting screws securing the lower shroud.

Lift the lower shroud off.

Use pliers to release the retaining clamp securing the fuel line and pull the line off of the fuel tank outlet port – this may require some effort.

Next, unthread the fuel tank cap.

Now use the 3/8th inch socket to remove the bolt and washer securing the fuel tank retaining bracket.

Release the bracket and remove the old tank.

Install the new fuel tank by inserting the fill spout through the hole in the upper shroud then reposition the retaining bracket.

Secure the bracket with the bolt and washer.

Thread the cap onto the new tank.

Attach the fuel line to the outlet port and secure it with the retaining clamp.

Replace the lower shroud by first inserting the tabs into the slots in the frame.

Position the shroud and rethread the mounting screws.

Replace the choke lever extension with the support tabs facing up.

Return the snow blower to its upright position.

With the repair completed reinsert the ignition key fill the tank with fuel and your snow blower should be ready for use.
