Step By Step Instructions

To replace the rear leveling leg adjustment gear in your dishwasher, you will need to uninstall the appliance first. To do this, turn off the power to your dishwasher

Shut off the water supply valve.

Use a phillips-head screwdriver to remove the screws securing the lower access panel.

Remove the panel.

Use a 5/8th inch wrench to help unthread the water supply line from the inlet valve be prepared for some water to spill.

Next, unthread the screw securing the junction box cover. Then pull the cover off.

Note the location of the wires then untwist the wire nuts to disconnect the wires.

Unthread the strain relief nut and detach the strain relief from the junction box.

Next, disconnect the drain hose from the sink drain or garbage disposer and feed it through the cabinet.

Open the dishwasher door and remove the mounting bracket screws.

To move the dishwasher, you may need to adjust the legs to lower the appliance. You can lower the rear leveling leg by using a 9/64th inch hex-head screwdriver to rotate the adjustment rod at the front clockwise.

Now, very carefully pull the dishwasher away from the cabinet.

Tip the dishwasher back so it rests on its rear panel.

Use the phillips-head screwdriver to unthread the screws securing the bottom access panel.

Pull the panel forward disconnect the leak sensor wire connecter and set the panel aside.

Next, remove the screw securing the rear leveling leg gear case cover.

Detach the rear leg adjustment rod from the base and pull it out of the gear case.

Use a flat-head screwdriver to release the tab to remove the rear leg gear assembly.

Note the orientation of the adjustment gear then unthread it from the leg.

Install the new rear leg adjustment gear by threading it on the leg with the hub side facing up.

Realign the leg and gear case cover assembly and snap it into place.

Reinsert the adjustment rod through the gear case and into the worm gear.

Snap the upper portion of the rod into the base.

Rethread the screw to secure the gear case.

Reconnect the leak sensor wire connecter.

Reposition the bottom access panel on the base and snap the retaining tabs into place.
