Step By Step Instructions

Before you replace the drain trap in your furnace first turn off the power to the furnace

Shut off the gas supply.

Use a flat-head screwdriver to unthread the screws securing the upper access panel and remove the panel.

Next, unthread the screws to release the lower access panel.

Use a small flat-head screwdriver to depress the tab to detach the door switch from the support rail.

Now note the location of the drain trap hoses then release the spring clamps and pull all three hoses off.

Remove the drain hose as well.

Next, unthread the screws securing the trap and remove the old trap.

Install the new drain trap by positioning it in the mounting bracket.

Thread the screws to secure.

Attach the hoses to the appropriate ports and secure.

Attach the drain hose to the trap as well.

Reinstall the door switch.

Realign the lower access panel and rethread the screws.

Realign the upper access panel and secure it with the screws.

With the repair completed, turn the gas supply back on as well as the power and your furnace should be ready for use.
