Before you replace the run capacitor in your furnace first turn off the power to the furnace.

Use a flat-head screwdriver to unthread the screws securing the lower access panel and remove the panel.

To ensure the run capacitor is discharged, place a screwdriver with an insulated handle across the terminals – avoid touching the screwdriver blade.

Now remove the screw to release the capacitor mounting bracket.

Disconnect the wires to fully remove the old component.

Install the new run capacitor by first connecting the wires to the terminals.

Insert the bracket tab into the slot in the blower housing align the capacitor in the bracket then thread the screw to secure.

Realign the lower access panel and rethread the screws.

With the repair completed, turn the power supply back on and your furnace should be ready for use.
