All of the information for this grass baffle replacement video is applicable to the following brands: Honda Tools needed: 12mm wrench, 12mm socket, T-40 torx bit, flat head screwdriver Step-By-Step Instructions 1 Before you replace the front grass baffle on your lawn mower first make sure the engine has cooled. 2 Next, you should remove the wire and boot from the spark plug to prevent the engine from accidentally starting. 3 Note the position of the wheel adjuster arms. 4 Now lift the front of the mower up and support it. 5 Use a 12mm socket to unthread the bolt securing a front wheel. 6 Detach the wheel and use a 12mm wrench and a t-40 torx bit to remove the nut and bolt securing the wheel adjuster assembly. 8 Repeat this procedure to remove the wheel and wheel adjuster assembly on the opposite side. 9 You can now use a flat-head screwdriver to depress the retaining tabs to help release the old baffle. You’re now ready to install the new front grass baffle. 10 With the middle hole at the top, snap the new baffle into place on the frame. 11 When replacing a wheel adjuster assembly, confirm that the adjuster arm is placed on the bolt with the tab facing up followed by the wheel support with the nut facing up. 13 Now reposition the adjustment plate with the tabs facing up. 14 Hold the assembly together as you insert the bolt and plate tabs into the frame. 15 Slide on the washer then thread the nut and tighten. 16 Repeat for the opposite side. 17 Reinstall the front wheels by making sure the wave washers are intact on the mounting bolts with the curved edge facing down; insert the bolts through the wheels and into the supports. 18 Tighten the bolts to secure the wheels. 19 With the repair completed make sure both wheel adjuster arms are set to the correct position reattach the wire and boot to the spark plug and your lawn mower should be ready for use.
