Step By Step Instructions

Before you replace the recoil starter on your engine first make sure the engine has cooled.

Next, you should remove the wire and boot from the spark plug to prevent the engine from accidentally starting.

Release the starter rope from the guide and note the orientation of the starter.

Now use a 10mm socket to unthread the mounting nuts securing the starter.

Remove the old starter.

Install the new recoil starter by properly aligning it on the engine shroud then thread and tighten the mounting nuts to secure.

Depress the bail arm extend the starter rope and secure the rope in the guide.
8
With the repair completed reattach the wire and boot to the spark plug and your engine should be ready for use.
