Step By Step Instructions

Before you replace the governor arm on your engine first make sure the engine has cooled.

Next, you should remove the wire and boot from the spark plug to prevent the engine from accidentally starting.

Use needle-nose pliers to fully detach the governor spring.

Now use a 10mm wrench to loosen the governor arm mounting nut.

Slide the arm off of the governor shaft and detach it from the governor rod and the throttle return spring.

Prepare the new governor arm for installation by transferring the nut and bolt from the old arm to the new one.

Now connect the governor rod and throttle return spring to the new arm.

Slide the arm onto the shaft.

Reinstall the governor spring.

Use pliers to rotate the governor shaft clockwise until it stops then tighten the nut.

With the repair completed reattach the wire and boot to the spark plug and your engine should be ready for use.
