All of the information for this dishwasher power switch replacement video is applicable to the following brands: Danby Tools needed: Phillip's head screwdriver, needle nose pliers Step-By-Step Instructions 1 Before you replace the power switch on your dishwasher be sure to turn off the power to the appliance. 2 Open the dishwasher door and use a phillips-head screwdriver to unthread the mounting screws securing the outer door panel. 3 Slide the door panel down to remove. 4 Next, unthread the screws securing the control panel. 5 Detach the panel and note the location of the power switch wires. 6 You can use needle-nose pliers to help disconnect the wires. 7 Remove the two screws securing the power switch retaining bracket. 8 Slide off the bracket and pull the old power switch free of the panel. 9 You’re now ready to install the new power switch. 10 Hold the power button then align the new switch with the terminals positioned vertically and snap the switch into place. 11 Properly align the retaining bracket and replace the screws to secure. 12 Connect the wires to the appropriate terminals on the new switch. 13 Reposition the control panel on the inner door panel and rethread the screws to secure. 14 Replace the outer door panel by sliding the edges up behind the control panel. 15 Hold the panel in place as you rethread the mounting screws. 16 With the repair completed turn the power supply back on and your dishwasher should be ready for use.
