Tools needed: putty knife, screwdriver, wrench

Step By Step Instructions

As with any repair, be sure you unplug the appliance before beginning and turn off the gas supply.

Your first step is to insert a putty knife under the front of the main top to release the spring clips.

Now rotate the top up and support it.

If you dryer has a rear control panel

You next step is to disconnect the door switch wires.

If your dryer has the control panel in the front you will need to disconnect the wire harness.

If necessary, you may also need to remove the zip tie securing the wires.

Now, remove the front panel mounting screws and pull the front panel up and out to remove.

Use a wrench to help unthread the gas valve nut.

Be aware this may require some effort.

Disconnect the wires to the flame sensor.

Remove the mounting screw to release the burner tube assembly.

Disconnect the igniter wires and rotate the assembly outward.

Remove the mounting clip to release the old igniter.

You’re now ready to install the new igniter.

Being careful not to touch the element itself, position the igniter onto the burner tube assembly. and secure it by snapping the clip into place.

Rotate the burner tube assembly and align the tab in the bracket with the slot in the base.

Reconnect the igniter wires and replace the mounting screw.

Reconnect the wires to the flame sensor.

Rethread the gas valve nut and tighten with the wrench.

Reinstall the front panel by aligning the slots at the bottom of the panel with the support clips then lift up the drum as you snap the front panel into place.

Secure the mounting screws and reconnect the wire harness or door switch wires depending on your model.

Use a zip tie to secure the wires.

Rotate the main top back into place and press down on the front to secure the spring clips.

You’re now ready to turn the gas supply back on and plug the appliance back in to make sure it’s functioning properly.
