Step By Step Instructions

Before you begin the repair, make sure the mower’s engine has cooled and remove the wire and boot from the spark plug.

Your first step is to lift up the mower’s rear shield and remove the grass bag and frame.

Now support the shield and remove the mounting screw securing the battery and fuse housing.

If applicable, peel off the sealing tape.

Slide the housing out to access the battery.

Peel the insulating tape off the battery terminals.

Disconnect the wires and remove the old battery.
8
Install the new battery by first reconnecting the wires.

Reuse the insulating tape, or use electrical tape, to seal the terminals.

Now seat the battery and slide the housing back into place.

If applicable, replace the sealing tape.

Otherwise, you can use duct tape to seal the compartment.

Replace the mounting screw.

Remove the rear shield support.

Set the grass bag and frame into place and reattach the spark plug wire and boot.
