Before you begin the repair, make sure the engine has cooled remove the wire and boot from the spark plug and turn the fuel valve off

Your first step is to remove the nuts securing the recoil starter to the mounting bolts

Pull the starter off and set it aside.

Now lift off the shroud and gas tank. Be aware some gasoline may spill out.

Remove the bolts securing the muffler cover and pull the cover off.

Next, remove the bolts securing the old muffler and pull the muffler out.

Install the new muffler by aligning it onto the exhaust manifold then secure it with the bolts.

Reposition the muffler cover and secure the bolts.

Reposition the shroud and gas tank on the mounting bolts.

Align the recoil starter on the bolts and secure the nuts.

Turn the fuel valve back on and reattach the spark plug wire and boot.
