Before you begin this repair, make sure the engine has cooled remove the wire and boot from the spark plug or plugs

Then disconnect the cables from the battery; black first, then red.

Your first step is to remove the nuts securing the old muffler to the cylinder head.

Now remove the screws from the muffler bracket and pull the old muffler out.

Install the new muffler by aligning the muffler pipe with the cylinder head then secure the muffler to the bracket with the screws.

Reinstall the nuts to secure the pipe.

You can now reconnect the battery cables red first, then black.

Finally, reattach the wire and boot to the spark plug or plugs.
