This video provides step-by-step repair instructions for replacing the slide shoes on an Ariens snowblower. The most common reasons for replacing the slide shoes are when they are worn-out or when the auger is picking up rocks.

Tools needed: socket wrench
Before beginning this procedure, be sure to remove the snowblower’s start key from the engine.
To replace the slide shoe, your first step is to use a support to prop up the front of the snowblower.
Note the orientation of the mounting bolts securing the old slide shoe now use a 9/16th inch socket to remove the nuts and washers.
Pull the mounting bolts out and remove the old slide shoe.
Install the new slide shoe by positioning it on the blower housing.
Insert the mounting bolts from the inside of the housing and secure them with the washers and nuts.
With the new shoe installed, remove the support and return the start key to the snowblower’s engine.
