Step By Step Instructions

Before beginning this procedure, be sure to remove the snowblower’s start key from the ignition.

To replace the right auger bearing, your first step is to remove the screw securing the bearing cup and pull the cup off.

Next, use a 9/16th inch socket to remove the auger mounting nut and pull off the old bearing. Be aware this may require some effort.

Install the new auger bearing by aligning it on the auger shaft and pushing it into place.

Thread the mounting nut and tighten.

Replace the bearing cup and secure it with the screw.

To replace the left auger bearing, you need to first remove the three screws securing the belt cover and pull the cover off.

Next, use a support to secure the auger.

Then use an 11/16th inch socket to remove the nut securing the auger pulley.

Remove the washers.

Release the brake and pull the auger pulley off along with the belt.

Next, pull off the pulley hub.

Remove the screw securing the bearing cup pull the cup off and pull out the old bearing.

Install the new bearing by aligning it on the auger shaft and pushing it into place.

Replace the bearing cup and secure it with the screw.

Reposition the pulley hub.

Now loop the belt onto the auger pulley.

Align the opposite end of the belt on the drive pulley then replace the auger pulley on the hub.

Replace the washers.

Thread the nut to secure the auger pulley and tighten with the socket.

Make sure the belt is seated properly.

Remove the support.

Reposition the belt cover and secure it with the screws.

With the new bearing in place you can now return the start key to the ignition.
