Tools used: T-20 Torx bit, flat-head screwdriver, ¾-inch socket or a Spark Plug Wrench, half-inch socket or wrench. Step-By-Step Instructions 1 Homelite Hand-Held Leaf Blower - Model UT09526 2 Leaf Blower Starter Rope Eyelet Replacement 4 "You will need a T-20 Torx bit, a flat-head screwdriver, a 3/4 â€“inch socket or a spark plug wrench and a half-inch socket or wrench for this procedure." 5 Make sure the engine has cooled. 6 Remove the wire and boot from the spark plug to prevent the engine from accidentally starting. 7 Rotate the blower tube assembly counter-clockwise to detach it from the blower housing. 8 "Using a T-20 Torx bit, unthread the ten screws securing the blower cover." 9 Use a flat-head screwdriver to release the retaining clip to fully remove the cover. 10 Use a 3/4 â€“inch socket or a spark plug wrench to unthread the spark plug. 11 "Confirm the engine piston is in the â€œdownâ€ position, then insert a cord into the cylinder to prevent the piston from moving." 12 Use a half-inch socket or wrench to unthread the blower fan blade retaining nut and remove the fan blade. 14 "Using a T-20 Torx bit, unthread the three mounting screws to release the engine cover." 15 Unthread the four screws securing the lower housing assembly. 16 Remove the housing assembly. 17 Lift out the eyelet retainer. 18 Lift out the eyelet itself then use a clamp to secure the starter rope. 19 Untie the knot to release the starter handle. 20 Slide the old eyelet off of the rope. 21 Install the new starter rope eyelet by sliding it onto the rope. 22 Feed the rope through the starter handle and tie a knot to secure. 23 Remove the clamp and position the new eyelet on the lower housing. 24 Slide the retainer into place to secure. 25 Reposition the lower housing assembly and thread the screws. 26 Realign the engine cover and secure it with the screws. 27 Slide the washer onto the motor shaft. 28 Reposition the fan blade then thread the retaining nut to secure. 29 Remove the cord from the cylinder and rethread the spark plug. 30 Be careful not to damage the threads by overtightening. 31 Reposition the blower cover on the housing and snap the retaining clip into place. 32 Thread all of the screws. 33 Reattach the blower tube assembly by aligning it on the blower housing and rotating clockwise until the tube locks into place. 34 Reattach the wire and boot to the spark plug. 35 Congrats!
