You will need a T-20 Torx bit and a T-25 Torx bit for this procedure.

"Before you begin, confirm the engine has cooled."

Be sure to perform this procedure with little or no fuel in the tank.

"Using a T-20 Torx bit, unthread the locking screw from the engine cover."

"Use a T-25 Torx bit to unthread the clamp bolt, then pull the engine assembly off of the drive shaft."

"Using the T-20 Torx bit, unthread the five screws securing the recoil starter assembly to the engine cover and engine."

Set the recoil starter aside and unthread the four front screws securing the engine cover.

"You can now remove the old cover, and install the new engine cover by positioning it on the engine."

Thread and tighten the four front screws.

"Reposition the recoil starter on the engine assembly, making sure the recoil pulley engages with the starter pawls."

"Thread the screws to secure, keeping in mind the larger screws go on the bottom."

Align the engine assembly on the drive shaft and thread the locking screw.

"With the locking screw in place, thread and tighten the clamp bolt."

Refill the fuel tank if necessary.
