"Step 1: Gather a number two square drive bit, a phillips-head screwdriver, a small flat-head screwdriver, and a 5/16 inch nut driver. "

Step 2: Unplug the power cord.

Step 3: Have an assistant help you to move the appliance away from the wall or out of the closet.

Step 4: Detach the venting from the dryer to fully access the rear of the laundry center.

Step 5: Shut off the incoming water and remove the hot and cold water supply lines as well.

"Step 6: If necessary, remove the drain hose from the standpipe or laundry tub. "

Step 7: Use the number two square driver bit or the phillips-head screwdriver to unthread the two screws securing the dryer access panel.

Step 8: Set the panel aside.

Step 9: Move the idler arm to the left so you can detach the belt from the motor pulley and idler pulley.

"Step 10: Unthread the four screws securing the rear of the top panel which will make it easier to remove the drum. "

"Step 20: With all the screws unthreaded, fully remove the front panel and lint filter duct assembly. "

Step 21: Unthread the screw to remove the drum stop.

Step 22: Lift the rear of the drum up to detach the bearing from the support then carefully remove the drum from the cabinet.

"Step 23: Use the small flat-head screwdriver to help detach the wires from the high-limit thermostat, the inlet thermal limit, and the heating element itself. "

Step 24: Use the 5/16 inch nut driver to unthread the two middle mounting screws securing the heating assembly to the rear panel.

Step 25: Note the orientation of the assembly then use the number two square drive bit or the phillips-head screwdriver to unthread the four outer screws to fully release the old assembly.

Step 26: Correctly position the new assembly on the rear panel of the cabinet and thread the four outer screws to secure.

"Step 27: From the rear of the appliance, thread the two middle screws. "

Step 28: Attach the wires to the appropriate terminals.

"Step 29: With the belt looped around the drum with its grooved side facing inward, reinstall the drum, making sure the rear bearing is inserted into the bearing support. "

Step 31: Reinstall the front panel by positioning the lower portion of the lint filter duct behind the inner access panel as you align the front panel mounting pins with the holes in the cabinet frame.
