Step By Step Instructions

As with any repair, be sure to turn off the power supply to your dishwasher before beginning

Shut off the water supply valve.

To replace the sump, your first step is to remove the lower dish rack.

Next, use pliers to pull back the wash arm support locking tab to release the wash arm and lift the arm out.

Remove the screw securing the filter screen.

Now push the locking tab in to lift off the screen.

Uninstall the screws securing the sump cover and pull the cover off.

Pull out the sump retainer.

You will now need to uninstall the dishwasher from the cabinet.

To do this, remove the screws to release the lower access panels and set the panels aside.

Disconnect the water supply line from the inlet valve.

Be prepared for some water to spill out.

Remove the screw to release the terminal block cover plate.

Note the location of the wires then untwist the wire nut to disconnect the wires.

Use a flathead screwdriver to help remove the strain relief nut and pull the wires out of the junction box.

Next, disconnect the drain hose from the sink drain or garbage disposer and feed it through the cabinet.

Open the dishwasher door and remove the mounting bracket screws.

To move the dishwasher, you may need to adjust the leveling legs to lower the appliance.

Now, to avoid damage, very carefully pull the dishwasher away from the cabinet.

Carefully tilt the dishwasher back so its rear panel rests on a blanket or carpet.

Next, loosen the clamp securing the collection chamber and remove the chamber from the sump outlet leaving the drain and chamber hoses attached.

Remove the chamber ball from the sump.

Loosen the clamp to release the sump from the pump assembly.

Lift the dishwasher to its upright position.

Support the appliance as you open the door and pull out the old sump.

Prepare the new sump for installation by first transferring the clamps from the old sump to the new one.

Now insert the new sump through the hole in the bottom of the tub.

Close the door and tilt the dishwasher back on it rear panel.

Position the pump assembly in the sump port and tighten the clamp to secure.

Replace the collection chamber by aligning the tab on the chamber with the notch in the sump outlet.

Tighten the clamp.

Again, lift the dishwasher to it upright position.

Make sure the end of the drain hose is accessible through the cabinet wall then gently slide the dishwasher back into the cabinet.

Adjust the leveling legs if necessary.

Replace the screws to secure the mounting brackets to the cabinet or countertop.

Feed the drain hose through the cabinet and connect it to the sink drain or disposer.

Make sure the hose is elevated above the connection point.

Feed the wires back through the junction box and secure the strain relief nut.

Connect the wires using the wire nuts

Align the cover plate and replace the screw to secure.

Reconnect the water supply line to the inlet valve.

Replace the lower access panels and secure them with the screws.

Open the dishwasher door and position the lip of the new sump in the tub groove.

Now insert the retainer into the new sump.

Replace the sump cover and secure with the screws.

Next, insert the existing chamber ball into the sump port.

Now, position the filter screen and secure it with the screw.

Snap the wash arm into place and replace the dish rack.

You’re now ready to turn the water supply back on as well as the power and confirm that the dishwasher is functioning properly.
