Step By Step Instructions

As with any repair, you should unplug the power cord before beginning.

To replace the start device in your freezer, reach in through the lower rear of the appliance and release the wire retainer.

Now use a small flathead screwdriver to help detach the old start device from the compressor.

Use the screwdriver to help disconnect the wire harness from the old device.

Prepare the new start device for installation by transferring the run capacitor from the old part to the new one.

Now connect the wire harness to the new start device.

Align the holes in the start device with the pins on the compressor and push the device into position.

Secure the wire retainer.

You’re now ready to plug the power cord back in and confirm that the freezer is functioning properly.
