Common solutions for: Jenn Air Trash compactor will not start
01 - Incoming Power Problem
Confirm the trash compactor is plugged in and there is power at the wall receptacle. You can plug another small appliance into the receptacle to confirm there is power. If there is no power, confirm the circuit breaker has not tripped.
02 - Jenn Air Trash Compactor Safety Switch
When the trash compactor door is open, the safety switch opens to prevent the trash compactor from starting. If the safety switch is defective, the trash compactor will not start. To determine if the safety switch is defective, use a multimeter to test it for continuity. If the switch does not have continuity when activated, replace it.
