Common solutions for: Whirlpool F/09 - Overflow Condition
Solution 1:
Check drain hose for kinks and make sure hose and pump are not plugged with lint or other debris
The manufacturer has assigned this error or fault code to indicate that the machine is overfilling with water. This washer is equipped with a water level pressure switch. As the machine fills, the pressure increases on the switch, at the set pressure, the switch cuts power to the water inlet valve and the water stops flowing into the washer. If the pressure switch fails to sense properly, or the water inlet valve fails to shut off the unit can overfill. This situation can also be caused if the machine does not drain properly. First, check to see if water ever enters the machine when it is turned off. If so, replace the water inlet valve. Next, check the drain line to be sure it’s not clogged or kinked. Next, check to see if the drain pump is working properly and removing the water from the previous cycle. If all of those check out, you may need to replace the pressure switch.
