Shop replacement repair parts for Briggs & Stratton Small Engine model 288707/0604-A1

Briggs & Stratton Spark Plug (RJ19LM). If the engine does not start or runs poorly then the spark plug may be defective and will need replacement.

Replacement Briggs & Stratton fuel line kit with clamps. 1/4 Inch inside diameter, Cut to length.

Briggs & Stratton in-line fuel filter. If the fuel filter is clogged, it will restrict the flow of fuel to the carburetor. As a result, the engine may not start.

Briggs & Stratton flywheel key. The flywheel key aligns the flywheel in the correct position on the crankshaft. If the engine stops suddenly due to hitting a hard object, the flywheel key shears in half to prevent damage to the engine. If the flywheel key is broken, the engine won't start.

Briggs & Stratton starter gear (also called a pinion gear), 16-tooth, plastic. The starter gear engages the flyhweel to start the engine. If the teeth on the starter gear are worn out, the engine may not start.

Ignition coil (or magneto armature). The ignition coil sends voltage to the spark plug while the engine is running. If the ignition coil is defective, the engine may not start.

Starter motor. When energized, the starter motor's drive gear engages the flywheel to start the engine. (Ensure that the solenoid wire is not being pinched upon installation of the starter, as this will potentially short the circuit)

Flywheel ring gear kit. Single cylinder Briggs

Air filter. If the air filter is clogged or dirty, the engine might not start, might be hard to start, or might run roughly. This filter should be replaced periodically to ensure optimal engine performance.
