As with most repairs, you should unplug the power cord first.

To do this, you may need to uninstall the trash compactor from the cabinet.

To replace the selector switch in your compactor first depress the foot pedal pull the container drawer assembly forward and lift it off of the track.

Remove the mounting screws securing the control panel.

Now lift the panel up to release it from the cabinet frame.

Remove the mounting screws to release the old selector switch.

You’re now ready to install the new selector switch.

Transfer the wires from the old switch to the new one.

With the wires in place, align the new switch on the control panel and replace the mounting screws.

Realign the control panel by inserting the tabs into the slots in the cabinet frame.

Replace the mounting screws.

Reposition the container drawer assembly on the track and push it into place.

With the repair completed, plug the power cord back in and, if required, reinstall the trash compactor in the cabinet.
