Step By Step Instructions

To replace a drawer switch in your trash compactor, you will need to uninstall the appliance from the cabinet.

Once the compactor is uninstalled, unplug the power cord.

Next, depress the foot pedal pull the container drawer assembly forward and lift it off of the track.

If you’re replacing the drawer switch on the front panel, first remove the quarter inch hex-head screws securing the mounting brackets and top panel.

Slide the top panel back and lift it off.

Now remove the screws securing the front panel.

Pull the front panel forward and depress the retaining tab to release the old switch from the panel.

Disconnect the wires from the switch.

Install the new drawer switch by first connecting the wires.

Then align the switch with the front panel and snap it into place.

Realign the front panel and replace the screws to secure.

Replace the top panel and realign the mounting brackets.

Replace all of the screws.

To replace the drawer switch located at the rear of the inner cabinet remove the power screw shield.

Now unthread the screws securing the wire guard.

Remove the guard and disconnect the wires from the old switch.

Depress the retaining tab and push the old switch into the cabinet to remove.

Install the new switch by aligning it on the side panel and snapping it into position.

Connect the wires to the new switch.

Reposition the wire guard and replace the screws to secure.

Realign the power screw shield.

Reposition the container drawer assembly on the track and push it into place.

With the repair completed, plug the power cord back in and reinstall the trash compactor in the cabinet.
