Before you replace the pre-cleaner in your engine, make sure the engine has cooled, the ignition switch is in the off position, and the key has been removed if applicable.

Now, lift up the hood or remove the engine cover.

Rotate the air filter cover retaining knobs counterclockwise and pull off the cover.

Lift out the air filter and slide off the old pre-cleaner, if still intact.

Install the new pre-cleaner by sliding it over the air filter.

Replace the filter in the housing, realign the cover, rotate the retaining knobs clockwise to secure, then lower the hood or replace the engine cover.
