In this video, we will show one or more of these icons to alert you when to use caution before you replace the oil filter on your engine.

Make sure the engine has cooled, the ignition switch is in the off position, and the key has been removed if applicable.

Lift up the hood or remove the engine cover.

Detach the oil drain tube from the blower housing.

Unscrew the cap and drain the oil from the engine into an approved container.

Once the oil has been drained, replace the cap and reattach the drain tube to the blower housing.

Now use a strap wrench or an oil filter wrench to help unthread the old filter by rotating it counterclockwise.

Be prepared for some oil to spill.

Prepare the new oil filter for installation by applying a small amount of oil to the ring.

Now thread the new filter clockwise onto the engine.

With the new filter installed, replace the oil in the engine.
