Step By Step Instructions

As with any repair, be sure you unplug the appliance before beginning and turn off the hot and cold water supply valves.

Your first step is to remove the hoses from the water inlet valve.

Be prepared for some water to spill out.

Make sure the drain hose is detached from the standpipe or laundry tub.

Next, use tape to secure the washer lid.

Now, carefully tip the washer forward so its front rests on a towel or carpet.

Use a quarter-inch Allen wrench to fully loosen the rotor mounting screw, then pull the rotor off.

Be aware, this may require some effort.

Now, remove the mounting bolts securing the stator and remove the front spacer.

Pull the stator off of the tub shaft along with the shield and rear spacer.

Detach the power connector.

Use a small flat-head screwdriver to help detach the old rotor position sensor.

Now, remove the wire connector and wire retaining clip from the old sensor.

Note the orientation of the drain and recirculation pump wires, then disconnect them.

Release the wire harness retaining clips.

Your next step is to remove the screws securing the washer's rear panel and pull the panel off.

Pull the water level pressure hose off of the tub port and detach the hose from the retaining clips.

Use pliers to pull the wire harness retaining clip free from the hose bracket.

Remove the screws securing the hose retaining plate and slide the retaining plate out.

Now, use the pliers to depress the tab to release the front wire retainer, then pull the second retainer free from the plate.

Next, remove the mounting screws securing the wire cover plate and pull the cover plate off.

Your next step is to loosen the mounting screws securing the control panel.

Detach the user interface connector and set the panel aside.

Cut any zip ties securing the wires.

Note the orientation of the wires connected to the control module, then detach the appropriate connectors along with the water level pressure hose.

Discard the old wiring and hose assembly.

You're now ready to install the new rotor position sensor kit.

Attach the wire harness connectors to the appropriate receptacles on the control module.

Attach the water level pressure hose to the module as well.

Secure any loose wires with a zip tie.

Snap the wire retainers into place.

Replace the wire cover plate and secure the screw.

Slide the hose retaining plate into position and secure it with the screw.

Route the water level pressure hose through the retaining clips and slide it onto the tub port.

Route the wires under the pump inlet hose and secure them to the tub.

Attach the rotor position sensor wire connector to the new sensor and secure the wire bundle retaining clip.

Attach the appropriate wires to the drain and recirculation pumps.

Connect the rotor position sensor to the stator by aligning its cover with the indentations on the stator housing and snapping it into place.

Attach the power connector to the stator.

Position the new shield on the stator along with the rear spacer and align the assembly on the tub shaft.

Position the front spacer and secure the mounting bolts.

Carefully slide the rotor onto the tub shaft.

Fully tighten the mounting screw.

Attach the user interface connector to the control module.
